Inter captain Martinez has now scored nine goals in seven Serie A matches and holds a clear lead as the league's top scorer. Martinez completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with five minutes remaining, after a foul by defender Matteo Lovato, who had pulled Thuram's shirt. Is Måneskin the Last Rock Band?

The other way Måneskin is isolated from the PNRC is geographic. Over the course of lunch, it became clear that they had encyclopedic knowledge of certain eras in American rock history but were only dimly aware of others. But none of them had ever heard of Fugazi, the post-hardcore band whose hatred of major labels, refusal to sell merchandise and commitment to keeping ticket prices as low as possible set the standard for a generation of American rock snobs. It picks up again with Franz Ferdinand and the “emo” era of mainstream pop rock. While snobs like Larson and me are overrepresented in journalism, we never constituted a majority of rock fans.

CNN —A 26-year-old man has died as a result of gunshot wounds sustained during celebrations by soccer fans in Naples, Italy, after Napoli won its first Serie A title in 33 years on Thursday, Napoli Police told CNN. The man died in Cardarelli hospital in Naples, according to police. Thousands celebrated across Italy on Thursday after Napoli was crowned Italian Serie A champion following a 1-1 draw against Udinese. The league title is the club’s first since 1990, when the late Diego Maradona – after whom the team’s home stadium in Naples is named – led Napoli to the Scudetto. It’s only the third time Napoli has won Serie A and the success sparked jubilant celebrations among the players and also the team’s fans in the southern Italian city, many of whom had congregated at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Diego Maradona battles dribbles against Ruud Gullit of AC Milan in the Serie A in 1988. With Maradona’s arrival came a level of success Napoli had previously never seen, culminating in a 1987 title victory; the club’s first ever Scudetto. When Napoli won its first Serie A title in 1987, the Gentleman Ultra website notes: “In the city, mock funerals were held for Juventus. The dark yearsA year after the 1990 title success, the Napoli team began to unwind with players departing, leading to a drop in performances. Maurizio Sarri's Lazio side face a tough test in Milan, who have been unbeaten at San Siro in their last eight games in all competitions. Lazio have 64 points ahead of Juve (63) and Inter Milan (60) with Atalanta, Milan and AS Roma (58) jostling for the top four. Pioli, whose Milan team were dethroned by Napoli in the league, also have a Champions League semi-final, first leg against Inter on Wednesday to think about. "Last year we took big steps forward when we came out of the Champions League, while this year in Europe we're doing exceptional things." Juve have found scoring on the road difficult, managing only four goals in their last five league games.

ROME, May 2 (Reuters) - Napoli will open up the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Thursday night for a live screening of their away game with Udinese when they hope to clinch the league title, local authorities said on Tuesday. Napoli also expect as many as 10,000 fans to make the long trek to northeast Italy for a match when a point will be enough to claim their first league title since Maradona was in his pomp in 1990. Extra police will be on duty in Udine for the game, with Napoli supporters taking up around half of the capacity of the Stadio Friuli. The result may even be academic: Napoli could be crowned champions the previous night if Lazio fail to win their Wednesday home match with Sassuolo. Lazio, who are in second spot, trail Napoli by 18 points with six games to play.

Juventus handed 15-point deduction for transfer deals

With 20 games left to play in this season, Juve were third in Serie A, 10 points adrift of leaders Napoli. The points deduction would push them down into mid-table, outside the spots for European competition. The ruling is tougher than a nine-point deduction a soccer prosecutor had requested earlier on Friday during a hearing looking at the way Juventus, Italy's most successful club, and a number of other teams dealt with player exchange deals. The soccer court also ruled that former Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli be banned from holding office in Italian soccer for 24 months. It also decided on a 30-month ban for Juve's former sports director, Fabio Paratici, now managing director of football at England's Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
